ONE DRONE DAY FESTIVAL 04

El próximo sábado 24 de noviembre vuelve a Hangar (BCN) el festival de música inmersiva One Drone Day. Doce horas ininterrumpidas (desde las 12pm) de música Drone en directo, en un único espacio con sistema de sonido cuadrafónico y adaptado para una escucha relajada, introspectiva y psiconáutica.

Este evento sonoro se caracteriza por la ausencia de estímulos visuales y lumínicos, focalizándose principalmente en la capa auditiva de una manera inmersiva. El público disfruta de diferentes directos en posición horizontal y confortable. La audiencia y la escucha devienen centrales y los artistas ofrecen los directos en posiciones perimetrales en la sala.

La música Drone se caracterita por la ausencia de patrones rítmicos. Flujes sonoros de intensidad variable donde se desarrollan cambios de narración a nivel micro (texturas, timbres, partículas,etc.) extendidas en tiempos muy largos.

En esta ocasión, lxs artistas seleccionadxs a través de convocatoria abierta que participarán en el ODD son:

Since ten years Garcia also organises the Zarata Festival, which is an annual event in his
hometown Bilbao. And ten years means a celebration, and this comes in the form of an almost
square shaped book (17x17 cm), hard cover, and some 250 pages. Garcia could have chosen
for a more documentary styled book, saying who's who on the pictures, which is responsible for
the many drawings that are scattered around in this book and perhaps an effort to translate the
various texts into English. Now, it is impossible to comment on these texts and about the many
pictures and drawings, I can say, 'yeah, lots of people use a laptop it seems, but there is also
some saxophones, cellos and traditional line-ups to be spotted'. Or one could listen to the
compilation CD in the mean time and try to find out if you can spot say Agnes Pe (who has a
DJ duty for many years; all posters are included), Murayama, Garcai himself, Tzesne, Clara de
Asis, Oier Iruretagoiena, Kakofunk Ensemble, Loty Negarty, The Tune 3.0 (with Ilia Belorukov)
or Ferran Fages is; I choose names of people of whom we reviewed music before. There are no
less than twenty pieces on this loaded CD and there is lots of new names to be found here (a=b,
Baba Ilaga, Dario Moratilla, Arruti Column, Grumos Lalai, Enxamio de Carneiro, Al Karpenter, Itziar
Okariz, Bazterrak & Tzesne, Inazio Escudero, Elbis Rever, Orbain Unit, Magmadam) with lots of
different styles, even when computers and noise seem to be in majority here, it is not as heavy
as one would perhaps expect. While perhaps not the most explaining of documentations, there
colourful chaos was well received. (FdW)

Nació repleto de bandas ruidosas y termina adoptando el ruido como canal, como actitud para programar. Creamos una cacofonía de convivencia a través de actuaciones cortas que sorprenden en una historia de coro milimétrica. Donde la diferencia desgrana el ruido en un sinfín de relatos y sensaciones que lanzadas en la misma bandeja al terminar la noche parece que hayamos vivido una pequeña vida. Performance, voz, electrónica, danza, discursos y vídeos.

Born full of noisy bands, it eventually takes noise as a channel and as a curating attitude. We raise a cacophonic teambuilding coexistence out of short spellbounding performances in a millimetric choir story. Where differences thoroughly shred noise in countless tales dropped in the same tray so that, at the end of the night, it seems we have lived a tiny life. Performances, voices, electronics, dance, talks and videos.

Talde zaratatsuz beterik sortu zen, eta, azkenean, zarata hartu du, programatzeko bide, jarrera gisa. Elkarrekin bizitzeko kakofonia bat sortu genuen, saio laburren bidez, koruko istorio milimetriko batez harri eta zur uzten gaituzten saioez. Bertan, desberdintasunak zarata aletzen du, ezin konta ahala kontakizun eta sentipenetan; eta, horiek erretilu berean botatakoan, badirudi bizitza labur oso bat bizi izan dugula gaua amaitzean. Etopia Centro de Arte y Tecnología, Zaragoza // Centro Cívico Universidad, Zaragoza // Teatro Las Esquinas, Zaragoza // El Matadero, Huesca // Cine Teatro El Molino, Sariñena //
Radical dB es el nuevo festival dedicado a las tendencias más actuales de las prácticas musicales con nuevas tecnologías poniendo la experimentación sonora en acción. A partir del 24 de septiembre de 2015 se celebrará la segunda edición de este festival en varios lugares de Aragón, comenzando en Etopia, el Centro de Arte y Tecnología situado en la Milla Digital de Zaragoza. Radical dB es un festival dirigido a todo el público en el que se presentarán propuestas arriesgadas en cuanto a su originalidad y concepción.
Actuarán los grupos internacionales más representativos del live-coding (código audio generado en directo por el artista programador); el código informático que procesa la música se proyecta en una pantalla en una serie de signos cabalísticos a primera vista e inaccesibles al público, y que, sin embargo, poco a poco le revelan la poesía de la música y el secreto de su infraestructura digital.
Mezclando diferentes prácticas y estéticas se presentan también conciertos dedicados a la interacción de los instrumentos tradicionales con distintos dispositivos tecnológicos. Habrá charlas, talleres, conciertos, instalaciones radiofónicas y espectáculos multimedia.
Y por supuesto, este año la segunda edición del concurso internacional de arte sonoro performativo.

El mismo día a partir de las 18:00 horas abrirá el espacio de escucha de Audiópolis en la 5ª planta de CentroCentro, esta vez presentando trabajo de los respectivos artistas.

Francisco López, comisario de Audiópolis, ha invitado a 20 programadores a participar e invitar a su vez a varios artistas sonoros, músicos experimentales, compositores, ruidistas… de Madrid, para que cada uno de ellos, un total de 100 artistas, realicen una pieza sonora ex profeso para este proyecto. Todas ellas se presentarán como piezas individuales aisladas y remezcladas como “módulo sonoro de recombinación”, procesadas y estructuradas por el software autónomo ad hoc desarrollado por el artista/programador Óscar Martín.

Sonic Landscape Interventions

Sonic Landscape Interventions is an interactive and participatory sound scape project. The final soundscape can be experienced on the Chalk Hill Artist Residency and its surroundings via a smartphone application (Radio Aporee) with headphones. Walking through the landscape the listener listens back to field recordings, performances, or even voices that were recorded in the place. The “sound walker” creates his own narration by choosing his/her way through the landscape. A GPS signal locates the sound walker and the sounds fade into each other while walking.
This project is inspired by postmodern literature and its fragmentation of narration. Books like Rayuela of Julio Cortazar or Gravity’s Rainbow of Thomas Pynchon show a puzzled, nonlinear reality that can be read in different ways. Like in a landscape there are different ways to move from point A to point B. These various trajectories describe different stories that will lead to multiple conclusions and thoughts. These postmodern ideas harmonize well with the Path Integral theories of Quantum Electrodynamics (QED), mainly developed by Richard Feynman that revolutionized Physics. A time dependency couples the sound sculpture with the observer, merging both into a single unit. ~ Kris, 2012
Christoph “/Kris/” Limbach (born in 1978) is a sound artist living in Berlin. He graduated in applied physics from FU-Berlin and his knowledge of physics merges into his sound art. His emphasis is always on exploring sound and image in an experimental way. Since 1998, he is also involved in film projects, using film-editing techniques and film sound aesthetics for his sound pieces like the ongoing /begin_ if _ ()/ sound project and live performance. Limbach has collaborated with artists such as Anton Mobin, Rinus van Alebeek, Pierce Warnecke, Hopek Quirin, etc. He works for both film makers and artists such as John Bock as set recordist and sound mixer / sound designer. He runs the /emitter19/ studio and co-curates the /emittermicro/ label and festival in Berlin.
Fieldrecoding is one of his passions that merges into his sound projects. In the sonic landscape interventions fieldrecordings and micro performances will lead into a soundmap of the surroundings of the chalk hill residency, a semi anthropological approach to recover and exhibit the “tuning” of the place.
